Summary
This study investigates how the cerebral vasculature develops postnatally in the mouse brain, transitioning from an immature state at birth to a mature network. The researchers developed LAMBADA (Light-sheet-aligned mouse brain annotated developmental atlas), a resource for registering and annotating optically cleared developing mouse brains with high temporal resolution, combined with aligned spatial transcriptomics. Using this approach, they identified three coordinated phases of vascular development that link vascular growth to neuronal circuit maturation, providing a spatiotemporal map of how blood vessel expansion and remodeling integrate with brain growth.

· 3 pulledThe structure of the cerebral vasculature is immature at birth and undergoes significant postnatal remodeling and expansion.
To address this spatiotemporally, we developed a light-sheet-aligned mouse brain annotated developmental atlas (LAMBADA)—a resource for registering and annotating optically cleared developing mouse brains with high temporal resolution, enriched by aligned spatial transcriptomics.
Using this resource, we identified three coordinated phases that link vascular growth to neuronal maturation.
