New Japan Pro-Wrestling Dissolves U.S. Arm, Promises Ongoing North American Shows

New Japan Pro-Wrestling has officially closed its American subsidiary, New Japan Pro-Wrestling of America Inc., after seven years of operation. The company announced the subsidiary would cease operations and enter liquidation as part of a broader effort to optimize management resources, according to multiple outlets including f4wonline.com and SEScoops. Launched in October 2019, the subsidiary was established to oversee NJPW's expansion into the U.S. market, most notably through the premiere of the NJPW Strong series, as reported by POST Wrestling. The closure marks a significant shift in the promotion's international strategy. "NJPW confirmed the development on their website, revealing that the subsidiary would cease operations and enter liquidation as a part of its ongoing effort to optimize management resources." Despite the shutdown, NJPW assured fans that North American events will continue. Bleeding Cool reported that the TV Asahi group will continue to fully back NJPW amid the changes, providing financial support for the promotion's activities in the region. "Despite the subsidiary's shutdown, NJPW confirmed that North American events will continue under the backing of the TV Asahi group." This restructuring reflects NJPW's adaptation to a changing business environment, as noted by Bleeding Cool, while maintaining a commitment to its international audience. The liquidation of the U.S. subsidiary does not signal a full retreat from the American market, but rather a consolidation of resources under the parent company's direct management.
