SACRAMENTO, CALIF. (June 22, 2010) -

 William Murphy, professor of dermatology at UC Davis and an expert in the immunology of stem cell transplants, was awarded $1.3 million tonight from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) to fund his research to improve the safety and efficacy of stem cell transplantation, an investigation that also could benefit solid organ transplantations by eliminating the need for immunosuppressive drugs.
