Disney+ has renewed its Jilly Cooper adaptation 'Rivals' for a third season, with the new season set to consist of 12 episodes. The series, described as the streamer's biggest European original, stars David Tennant, Aidan Turner, and Danny Dyer, according to Deadline.
"The new season will explore higher stakes, fragile alliances, new romances, and shocking secrets."
Variety reported that the renewal comes ahead of the second half of Season 2, which is scheduled to return in November. The series is based on Cooper's "bonkbuster" book series and follows residents of a small 1980s English village navigating complex personal and romantic relationships.
The show, which also stars Alex Hassell and Emily Atack, is produced by Happy Prince, part of ITV Studios. Variety noted that the series will also be available on Hulu. The renewal follows solid ratings and strong reviews for Season 2, as reported by Deadline.
