Ricky Gervais is returning to adult animation with 'Alley Cats,' a new Netflix series that follows a group of feral British felines as they navigate life, love, and death with his trademark grumpy, expletive-laden humor. The trailer, released ahead of the show's August 7 premiere, was previewed at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where Gervais is set to promote the six-episode series.

"The trailer showcases Gervais' signature grumpy humor mixed with social commentary, exploring themes of life, love, and death."

Produced by Blink I, the 2D animated series arrives 13 years after 'The Ricky Gervais Show' and features an ensemble cast of feline characters. According to Variety, the cats engage in "crude, provocative discussions about life, death, and other taboo topics," plotting misadventures and sharing outrageous stories that blend Gervais' love for cats with his trademark humor.

Bleeding Cool reported that the series consists of six episodes and will premiere on Netflix on August 7. The trailer and preview images were released alongside the announcement, giving fans a first look at the foul-mouthed feral felines who serve as the show's central characters.

With 'Alley Cats,' Gervais returns to the animated format that helped launch his global fame, this time swapping the office banter of 'The Office' for the gritty alleyways of British cat colonies. The series promises to deliver the same sharp wit and boundary-pushing comedy that has defined his career, now filtered through the antics of a group of unapologetically crude cats.
