Paramount's freshly launched genre label, Paramount Primal, has secured the R-rated comedy project 'Boys for Life' after a competitive bidding war that included A24 and Warner Bros. The film is set for an April 9, 2027 theatrical release, with production already underway, according to Deadline.

The project comes from Tyler Falbo, known for his dark, irreverent comedy style honed through YouTube sketches and his FX series 'Last Night Was a Movie.' Falbo will direct, co-write, and produce the film, Variety reported. The Hollywood Reporter described him as "the sketch comedy star."
Plot details remain sparse, but Variety noted that the ensemble comedy "involves a group of friends reuniting with a twist." Falbo is co-writing the script with Max Barrett, according to thescreenreport.com.

In addition to the 'Boys for Life' news, Deadline reported that Teyana Taylor's dance film 'Get Lite' has been moved from its original date to late summer, though no specific new date was provided. Paramount Primal's acquisition of Falbo's comedy signals the label's aggressive push into original, adult-oriented fare.
