Nothing has announced the Phone 4B, a new budget handset that replaces last year's Phone 3A Lite naming convention. According to The Verge, the device sits below Nothing's 'A' tier lineup and combines design elements from the Phone 4A and 4A Pro models.

Nothing Phone 4B offers budget buyers a large battery and a new naming scheme

The Phone 4B features a unibody plastic design and boasts the largest battery Nothing has ever put in a phone, as reported by The Verge. Android Authority noted that the phone 'still delivers impressive battery health and a decent update policy,' adding a layer of reassurance for cost-conscious shoppers who plan to keep the device for a few years.

However, like its predecessors, the Phone 4B will not be available in the United States. The Verge reported that 'like previous cheaper Nothing phones, the 4B will not be released in the US market.' That leaves the new model for other global markets where Nothing's budget strategy continues to evolve.

With its revised naming and focus on endurance, the Phone 4B attempts to carve out a distinct identity in the crowded sub-premium segment. Whether the combination of design cues from pricier siblings and a bigger battery is enough to win over buyers will depend on its final pricing, which Nothing has not yet disclosed.
