British producer Felix Manuel, known as Djrum, has announced a new EP titled "I Wander," set for release on August 14 via Houndstooth. The project follows his acclaimed full-length "Under Tangled Silence" and arrives as a single, unbroken composition split into six distinct tracks, according to both Pitchfork and Stereogum.
"The EP consists of a suite of six continuous tracks"
Pitchfork reported that Manuel describes the record as something that can be enjoyed in pieces or as a whole, with each track telling its own story while contributing to a larger narrative. The structure deliberately blurs conventional categories.
"[The EP explores] the boundaries between song, track, work, and piece"
Stereogum noted that Djrum designed "I Wander" as one continuous piece of music, challenging listeners to consider where one genre or format ends and another begins. This conceptual approach mirrors the fluid, atmospheric style that defined his previous work.
A preview track, titled "I Wander (IV + V)," has been released. Both outlets confirmed that the snippet offers a window into the EP's contemplative, evolving soundscapes, with Pitchfork adding that the preview combines two sections from the suite.
