Infinity Ward has unveiled Kill Block, a new multiplayer battleground for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 that promises to keep players guessing by physically reconfiguring itself between matches. According to Game Informer, the mode is billed as "a modular multiplayer battleground that reconfigures every match, challenging players to rethink routes, sightlines, and combat spaces on the fly."
True to that description, Kill Block is not a static map. IGN reported that it can transform into over 500 different combinations, with three sections of the map rotating out from game to game. The map is composed of two sectional outer areas called End Slabs and a single central combat zone, as detailed by Game Informer. In the game's fiction, Kill Block is the codename for the West Bridge Advanced Military Training facility, a live-fire training environment off the books.
The mode supports two player counts, offering flexibility for different squad sizes. IGN confirmed that players can play Kill Block in 3v3 or 10v10 matchups. Hardcore Gamer added that the map houses "the next iteration of Gunfight" in Modern Warfare 4, a fan-favorite mode that pits small teams against each other in tight, round-based combat.

GAMINGTREND described it as "an amazingly cool new feature," and the map was showcased at Fanatics Fest, as noted by both Hardcore Gamer and GAMINGTREND. Xbox Wire also provided intel on the mode, though further details remain under wraps until launch.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to launch on October 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Battle.net, according to IGN. With Kill Block's shifting layout and support for both small-scale and larger skirmishes, Infinity Ward appears to be doubling down on replayability and chaos in equal measure.
