Queens of the Stone Age have returned with "Easy Street," their first new song since 2023's album In Times New Roman. The track, released on Matador Records, features a duet between frontman Josh Homme and country singer/songwriter Nikki Lane, according to IconvsIcon and Uncut. The song was debuted live last year during the band's lauded Catacombs tour and has been eagerly awaited by fans, IconvsIcon reported.
Accompanying the single is a music video described by Carmandragone as a "house-party" clip featuring a firefighter, a horse, and a Juggalo. The visual adds a surreal, playful layer to the track's blend of acoustic guitar and psychedelic synths, which IconvsIcon called "serene and perfectly imperfect."
"a funny song that hits like a funny bone, humorous yet painful"
Loudersound reported that Homme described the song this way, and noted that "Easy Street" blends QOTSA's signature rock sound with country influences, a direction that marks a clear departure for the band.
UMusic observed that "it is evident that Josh Homme needed to explore other terrains with Queens of the Stone Age" on this release. The single also arrives alongside news of 2026 tour dates, as Treble reported, though specifics of those dates have not yet been detailed.
With its collaborative edge and eccentric video, "Easy Street" signals a new chapter for the band, one that maintains their signature edge while embracing a lighter, more collaborative spirit.
