Call of Duty: Black Ops 1 and 2 appear to be losing some content when they are re-released on PlayStation later this month, based on recently leaked trophy lists. The lists have appeared online, and while they are largely identical to the original PS3 versions, they suggest that a few modes and pieces of content may have been dropped.
"A slight downgrade."
According to IGN, the trophy lists for both games surfaced early, and their omission of certain achievements indicates that fan-favorite features could be missing from the PS4 and PS5 ports. The outlet noted that the lists are otherwise similar to the originals, but some expected trophies are absent.
The timing of the leak suggests an imminent release. Eurogamer reported that trophy lists typically appear online just days before a game becomes available, adding that "we're likely closer than ever to the launch" of these re-releases.
"fan-favorite features like Wager Match and Theater Mode may have been removed."
Insider Gaming called out specific potential omissions, reporting that the trophy lists suggest the removal of Wager Match and Theater Mode, though the outlet stressed that this remains unconfirmed speculation from the community. Neither Activision nor Sony have officially commented on the ports' content.
If the leaks hold, longtime fans of the Black Ops series may find the re-releases lacking some of the features that made the originals memorable. The official feature set will only be clear once the games launch on PS4 and PS5.
