Xbox fans have found an unexpected venue for protest: Microsoft's own recently launched Xbox Player Voice portal. A wave of users is using the official feedback site to demand that the company end its cycle of job cuts and studio closures, turning a tool meant for product suggestions into a rallying point for workers' rights.
A call to "end studio closures" has garnered over 3,000 upvotes and is currently trending on the platform, according to Kotaku. The demand reflects deep frustration with years of layoffs that have affected major studios under Microsoft's umbrella, including Activision, Bethesda, Blizzard, and Obsidian.
Beebom reported that a large chunk of the player base is calling for an end to what they see as a destructive restructuring pattern. Players have laid out specific demands as Microsoft recovers from a rocky period that has seen repeated workforce reductions despite the company's enormous profitability.
"This cannot continue."
That line, posted by Xbox fan Witt Yao on the Player Voice forum, captures the mood of the protest. By using Microsoft's own feedback system, players are ensuring their message lands in a place the company has to pay attention to, even as Kotaku noted that further significant cuts are still expected across the gaming division.
