Water Vapor Therapy Clears Prostate Cancer in 75% of Men in Early Trial
By
Edited by Madhurima Roy
Summary
A subset analysis of an ongoing prospective study across 19 sites evaluated water vapor therapy (transurethral ablation) for intermediate-risk prostate cancer in 110 men (median age 65) with Gleason grade group 2 (GG2) lesions. Results at 6 months showed that 75% of men had complete clearance of prostate cancer in the treated area, and 91% had no GG2 or higher-grade cancer remaining. The therapy demonstrated early efficacy with minimal procedural complications for treating intermediate-risk prostate cancer.
