Disney and Pixar's "Toy Story 5" has crossed the $800 million mark at the global box office, putting it on pace to become the highest-grossing entry in the beloved animated franchise. Toy Story 5 Races Past $800 Million, Closes In on Franchise Record

"The animated sequel is on track to surpass $1 billion and potentially overtake 'Toy Story 4' ($1.07 billion) as the franchise's highest-grossing installment."

Deadline reported that the film has already become Pixar's ninth highest-grossing movie globally, passing "Monsters University," "Up," and "The Incredibles." It currently ranks as the No. 3 MPA global grossing title of the year, trailing only "Super Mario Galaxy" and "Michael," both of which are nearing $1 billion. The movie has not yet opened in Germany, leaving additional revenue potential untapped, according to Deadline.

With its strong theatrical run continuing, "Toy Story 5" is poised to challenge the franchise record set by "Toy Story 4" and could become Pixar's next entry in the billion-dollar club. The film's performance underscores the enduring appeal of the Toy Story brand, even as the studio navigates a shifting animation landscape.
