FromSoftware has announced a closed network test for its upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, scheduled to run from August 21 through August 23. According to Game Informer, applications to participate open on July 22 and close on July 28. Selected participants will be notified on August 7, as reported by thesixthaxis.

The Duskbloods Network Test on Switch 2 Set for August, Registration Opens Next Week

The invite-only test, similar to the one held for Elden Ring Nightreign, will focus on server load, game balance, and online connectivity, GamingBolt reported. Game Informer noted that The Duskbloods is a PvPvE experience, which makes the network test particularly important for the Tokyo-based studio.

"a PvPvE experience" GamingBolt added that the test will serve to evaluate online play ahead of the game's eventual launch.

ComicBook described The Duskbloods as "one of the most anticipated games of 2026," despite its exclusivity to the Switch 2. However, Eurogamer warned that "it sure looks like getting in will be hard," reflecting the limited capacity of such tests. Fans will need to register quickly and meet the requirements: a Switch 2, a Nintendo Account, and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, according to thesixthaxis.

Beebom reported that this marks the first hands-on opportunity for players with the title since its announcement during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct. With registration opening next week, FromSoftware fans have a narrow window to secure a spot in what is shaping up to be one of the summer's most sought-after playtests.
