T-Pain paid tribute to the late Oliver Tree by premiering a previously unreleased collaboration between the two artists during a back-to-back set with DJ Diesel, also known as Shaquille O'Neal, at the Electric Forest festival in Rothbury, Michigan. The performance took place on June 27, less than two weeks after Tree died at age 32 in a helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro that claimed six lives, as Complex reported.

"The song had been held for two years, and the team stayed up until 3 a.m. to prepare it for the performance."

Vulture

According to Vulture, the track had been shelved for two years and required last-minute preparation into the early morning hours to make the setlist. The Los Angeles Times noted that during the performance, the crowd heard Tree's vocals while visual projections honored the Santa Cruz native, creating an emotional moment for festivalgoers.

The teaser is believed to be from what will likely be Oliver Tree's final musical project, according to the Los Angeles Times. Complex reported that the collaboration was played during T-Pain's back-to-back set with DJ Diesel, adding that Tree died on June 14 in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro that killed six people.

T-Pain and Shaq's set at Electric Forest served as both a celebration of their musical partnership and a heartfelt farewell to a fellow artist whose sudden death shocked the music community. The unreleased track now stands as a poignant reminder of the work Tree left behind.
