Konami has announced a free update for Super Bomberman Collection that will add Super Bomberman: Panic Bomber W as a playable title on August 20. The collection, which already includes seven classic Bomberman games, will expand with this competitive puzzle offering. According to Gematsu, the new addition is designed for one to four players.
"a competitive puzzle game for one-to-four players featuring chain reactions and Big Bombs."
The description highlights the game's focus on chain reactions and special bomb types, a departure from the traditional arena-based Bomberman gameplay found in the rest of the collection. Nintendo Everything reported that the update, confirmed by Konami, will be delivered at no additional cost to existing owners.
Panic Bomber W originally appeared on the Wii Virtual Console and has now been ported to modern platforms as part of this ongoing support for the Super Bomberman Collection. The free update model suggests Konami is committed to adding value for players who purchased the bundle, which launched in 2022.
This announcement follows a pattern of classic game collections receiving post-launch enhancements. With the addition of Panic Bomber W, the Super Bomberman Collection now offers eight games in total, giving fans a mix of classic and lesser-known titles in a single package.
