Sony Pictures Animation and Amazon MGM Studios are teaming up for a fifth Hotel Transylvania film titled 'The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania', set for a theatrical release on October 8, 2027, according to Deadline and Variety.
"Sony Pictures Animation and Amazon MGM Studios are collaborating on a fifth Hotel Transylvania film titled 'The Haunting of Hotel Transylvania'."
The partnership builds on a previous pandemic-era deal in which Amazon licensed the fourth film for Prime Video, giving Amazon MGM Studios co-producer rights on the next installment, Deadline reported. Jennifer Kluska and Alan Hawkins are set to direct the sequel, with Lawrence Jonas producing and Genndy Tartakovsky serving as executive producer, Variety noted.
Under the distribution arrangement, Sony Pictures will handle North American theatrical distribution and select international territories, while Amazon MGM Studios will manage the international rollout, according to both Deadline and Variety. The film continues the popular animated franchise that began in 2012.
"The Drac Pack is coming back to the big screen next year."
Animation Magazine heralded the return of the franchise's signature monster family, underscoring the enduring appeal of the series. The announcement confirms that the fifth installment, following a long gap since the last film, will arrive in theaters in time for spooky season 2027.
