Meta-analysis finds link between sleep apnea severity and erectile dysfunction, supports targeted screening

Summary
A new meta-analysis published in the International Journal of Impotence Research examined the link between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity and erectile dysfunction (ED). Analyzing 8 observational studies, researchers found that greater OSA severity (measured by AHI) was associated with poorer erectile function (lower IIEF scores), while higher minimum oxygen saturation correlated with better erectile function. The authors caution the evidence is observational, heterogeneous, and low certainty, so findings support targeted screening for sleep disorders in men with ED rather than proving causality.
