A second note sent to media outlets regarding the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of "Today" anchor Savannah Guthrie, has revealed that she died shortly after being abducted and was buried somewhere in nature, according to Variety. The first note had demanded a cryptocurrency ransom for her safe return.
The second message, which sources confirmed was sent to multiple news organizations including NBC News, ABC News, and NewsNation, reportedly did not include an apology or any request for payment for the release of her body, TheWrap reported. The notes were sent to TMZ and KOLD-TV, according to Deadline.

Savannah Guthrie became emotional on the June 23 episode of "Today" while reacting to the news, Variety reported. She made an emotional appeal directly to viewers, asking for information and help regarding her mother's fate, according to TVLine.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to search for Nancy Guthrie, who was last seen in Tucson, Arizona. The first note had demanded $6 million in bitcoin for her safe return, while the second reportedly states that Nancy died shortly after being abducted, Variety noted.
