HBO Max has dropped the trailer for "Stuart Fails to Save the Universe," a 10-episode spinoff of "The Big Bang Theory" set to premiere July 23. The series centers on comic bookstore owner Stuart Bloom, who accidentally triggers a multiverse Armageddon by breaking a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, according to Variety.
"Stuart must restore reality with help from his girlfriend Denise, geologist friend Bert, and physicist Barry Kripke."
The trailer, released by HBO Max, showcases a multiverse concept that expands the original show's universe, TVLine reported. Episodes will release weekly on Thursdays, giving fans a steady dose of the new narrative.
The spinoff marks a significant expansion of the franchise, moving beyond the original series' Pasadena setting into a broader multiverse storyline. The trailer features multiple cameos from the original show's universe, hinting at familiar faces returning to aid Stuart in his chaotic quest.
With its July 23 premiere date and weekly release schedule, "Stuart Fails to Save the Universe" aims to capture the same comedic energy that made "The Big Bang Theory" a cultural phenomenon, while introducing fresh stakes through its multiverse premise.
