Marvel Comics is bringing back fan-favorite hero Sam Alexander as Nova in a new one-shot titled Nova: Return of the Rings, timed for release in October. The comic will be part of the publisher's Marvel's Voices line, which spotlights diverse creators and characters, and will celebrate Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month.
"The legendary Ten Rings of Power are returning to the Marvel Universe, and only one hero stands in their way of falling into the wrong hands: Sam Alexander, A.K.A. Nova!"
The story pits Nova against a new villain who aims to misuse the ancient artifacts, according to the announcement. The one-shot marks a significant return for Sam Alexander, a character with Latin American heritage, during a month dedicated to honoring that community.
"Marvel Comics is launching Nova: Return of the Rings 1 in October 2026, timed for Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month."
The creative team brings together writers Josh Trujillo and Juan Ponce, with art by Rafael Loureiro and Andy Pereira, as reported by Bleeding Cool. The cover art is by Humberto Ramos. Trujillo previously wrote Planet of the Apes Vs. Fantastic Four, while Loureiro is known for Dazzler.
This one-shot continues Marvel's tradition of using the Voices banner to highlight underrepresented heroes and creators. Nova: Return of the Rings 1 is scheduled for release on October 14, according to comiclist.info, offering a new chapter for the space-faring hero.
