Ubisoft has released the first gameplay trailer for Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, a remaster of the acclaimed 2011 2D platformer. The trailer showcases the game running in 4K with quality-of-life improvements and new collectibles, according to IGN and vgtimes.com. The enhanced edition is set to launch on October 1, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Ubisoft Connect, and it will be included in every edition of the bundled package Rayman Legends Retold.

"It's been far too long since we've had a new adventure featuring Ubisoft's most iconic platforming mascot."

Gamereactor noted that while a brand-new Rayman game is not on the horizon, Ubisoft is leaning heavily on nostalgia by pairing the Origins remaster with the updated Rayman Legends Retold. The bundle approach means players who buy the Legends retread will automatically receive Origins: Enhanced Edition, as confirmed by Nintenderos and Nintendo Life.

The trailer also highlights the inclusion of content previously exclusive to the PlayStation Vita version of the original game, Push Square reported. The outlet described the 4K visuals as "fab" and emphasized that the PS5 version benefits from the extra power. PlayStation LifeStyle called the action in the trailer "gorgeous-looking," noting that Ubisoft is reviving a classic from the PS3 era.

"And features PS Vita exclusive content."

This is a significant addition for longtime fans, as the Vita content was not available on other platforms in the original release. The enhanced edition is being positioned as a complete package that brings the best of Rayman's earlier 2D outings to modern hardware, complete with updated performance on each platform, including the Switch 2.

Ubisoft is building buzz ahead of the October 1 release by reminding players of the tight controls and hand-drawn art that made the original a standout, according to Gamereactor. With no new Rayman adventure on the immediate roadmap, the Enhanced Edition and its bundled sibling appear to be the company's strategy for satisfying the character's loyal fanbase across multiple systems.
