Pete Tong Pushes Back With Messages After John Summit's Remix Theft Accusation

Pete Tong has publicly refuted John Summit's claim that the veteran DJ stole his unreleased remix of Everything But the Girl's 1994 classic "Missing." Summit took to X (formerly Twitter) earlier this week to accuse Tong of promising to release the remix with him before instead releasing it with Franky Rizardo, according to Billboard and Stereogum.
"Those allegations are simply not supported by the facts."
Tong responded by sharing screenshots of what appear to be direct messages exchanged with Summit, offering what Stereogum described as "receipts" that contradict the narrative. The exchange adds a new layer to what has become a public dispute over the popular track.
"Tong retaliated by sharing receipts (screenshots of messages) that appear to counter Summit's claims."
The incident is the latest in a series of public feuds involving Summit, who has previously clashed with Travis Scott and Diplo, Stereogum reported. Neither Tong nor Summit have commented further since the screenshots were posted.
