Paramount Skydance has restructured its industrial relations department into a standalone division, promoting Nicole Lang and Sheldon Kasdan to Executive Vice Presidents and Co-Heads of the new unit. The move elevates labor relations to a more prominent, independent function within the company, according to Deadline.
Lang and Kasdan will report directly to Chief Legal Officer Makan Delrahim, as reported by both Deadline and Variety. Lang previously led worldwide industrial relations and production safety at Paramount, while Kasdan oversaw labor relations for CBS studio and broadcasting groups.
"The restructuring elevates industrial relations to a more prominent, independent function within the company."
Lang has led industrial relations at Paramount Pictures since 2013, and Kasdan has been a top labor executive at CBS for a decade, according to Variety. The new division will manage the company's relationships with entertainment unions and handle labor negotiations, Variety reported.
By consolidating these responsibilities under a dedicated unit with two co-heads, Paramount Skydance signals a strategic emphasis on labor relations as the entertainment industry navigates ongoing union negotiations and evolving workplace standards. The appointments of Lang and Kasdan bring decades of combined experience to the newly formed division.
