Netflix has ordered a straight-to-series father-daughter espionage thriller starring Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour, reuniting the beloved "Stranger Things" co-stars. The untitled project was given an immediate series order, according to both Variety and Deadline, signaling the streaming giant's confidence in the high-profile duo.
The series is created by Jack Thorne, co-creator of the hit Netflix drama "Adolescence" and writer of the "Enola Holmes" films, and will be produced by A24 and Joe Hipps. Variety reported that the logline follows a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert who gets pulled back into his old world.
Deadline noted that the project was fast-tracked due to the high-profile talent involved, as both Brown and Harbour are central to two of Netflix's biggest series ever, "Stranger Things" and "Adolescence." The involvement of A24, known for its critically acclaimed film and television output, adds further prestige to the series. The reunion of Brown and Harbour, who play Eleven and Jim Hopper in "Stranger Things," will now see them shift from a found-family dynamic to a biological father-daughter relationship in the spy thriller genre, a twist that has already generated considerable buzz.
