Meta has rolled out a fresh set of features for its Edits video editing app, expanding its toolkit for creators with auto-generated bilingual captions, enhanced editing templates and new seasonal sound effects. The update is aimed at making it easier for users to produce content for multilingual audiences while offering additional creative options for short-form videos.Among the key additions is auto-generated bilingual captions, which support 15 languages. The feature allows creators to display captions in two languages simultaneously, potentially helping them reach viewers across multiple regions without creating separate versions of the same video. Instagram, which is closely integrated with Edits, has been expanding translated content recommendations to help creators connect with international audiences. Also read: Govt orders Meta to remove Instagram ads promoting child sexual abuse, seeks explanation in 7 days: SourcesMeta has also introduced a new collection of seasonal sound effects, designed to give creators more audio options for their videos. The company said the latest effects are intended to help users create content around seasonal themes and trends. The update also expands template creation capabilities. Creators can now build more reusable templates with support for overlays and a new clip-locking feature. Locked clips remain fixed in place when others reuse a template, making it easier to preserve key visual elements while allowing users to customise the remaining content. The additions continue Meta's rapid development of the Edits app, which has received frequent feature updates since its launch. As competition intensifies in the creator economy, the company is positioning Edits as a more comprehensive editing platform by regularly introducing new AI-powered and collaborative tools for short-form video creation.
