It's Fido Friday, and this week community contributor Jen Agnew introduces us to Pecas, a three-year-old who has been at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus since March. For his day out, Jen took him somewhere a little different, up to Idyllwild for an outing in the mountains.Pecas handled all of it without missing a beat. The group walked through town, stopped at restaurants, and met people everywhere they went. At each stop, Pecas laid down by the table and waited patiently while everyone ate. "He handled every bit of it like he had done it a hundred times before," Jen said. "He was calm, confident, friendly with other dogs, and he loved everyone he met. He's the kind of dog who would fit right into just about any family."That's the point of FIDO, giving shelter dogs the chance to show who they really are once they're out of the kennel. And Pecas made his case clearly. If you're interested in adopting Pecas, contact the Coachella Valley Animal Campus and reference ID number A-1905936.To become a FIDO walker and take a dog out for the day, email Pam Solek at [email protected] or find her on the Nextdoor app. For more Coachella Valley News visit NBCPalmSprings.com
