Global girl group Katseye released the first trailer for their upcoming documentary "Katseye: Wild Hearts" and simultaneously opened ticket sales for the film's theatrical run. The documentary will hit cinemas worldwide on August 12, as confirmed by multiple outlets covering the announcement.
Formed by labels HYBE and Geffen from the 2023 reality competition series "The Debut: Dream Academy," the Los Angeles-based group has experienced a meteoric rise since debuting in June 2024 with the single "Debut." According to Harper's Bazaar, the feature-length documentary covers their international tours, a Coachella performance, and a Grammy nomination.
"Global girl group KATSEYE are laying it all on the table in their new film KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS."
The documentary, described by UPI as a film in which the group "reflects and performs," offers an intimate look at the members' journey from the competition stage to global recognition. The trailer itself is set to their track "Pinky Up," as KS95 reported.
In a strategic release timing, the film arrives ahead of the group's forthcoming EP titled "WILD." Themusic.com.au noted that "the film will be shown in cinemas ahead of the release of KATSEYE's new EP, 'WILD.'" This dual rollout builds on the momentum of their live performances at major festivals including Lollapalooza Chile and Brazil, which PinkNews highlighted.
With the documentary promising to capture both the highs and the intimate moments behind their swift ascent, fans now have a concrete date to mark on their calendars. The trailer's tagline, as reported by PinkNews, declares a "new era, new aura," signaling that the Katseye story is only just beginning to unfold on the big screen.
