Apple has released the first public betas of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27, according to AppleInsider. The rollout follows several rounds of developer testing since the new operating systems were unveiled at WWDC in early June. Users with an iPhone 15 Pro or newer can now install the update and access the headline feature: a smarter Siri powered by artificial intelligence, though MacRumors noted there is a waitlist for that capability.

Apple's iOS 27 Public Beta Opens to All Users, Promises Siri AI Upgrade

"The first public beta release of iOS 27 has just hit Apple devices, and here are five cool new features you can take for a spin after installing the update."

BGR highlighted five standout features to explore, while Tom's Guide listed nine that users should try first. Among them are enhanced Siri interactions, redesigned Control Center, and new customization options. Cult of Mac reported that developers have been testing the software since early June, and the public beta is now following the same pattern as previous years.

Lifehacker urged caution, warning users not to install the beta without understanding the risks. The outlet's headline bluntly stated: "You Can Install the iOS 27 Public Beta Now, but You Probably Shouldn't." Beta software often contains bugs and can affect battery life or app stability, so users are advised to back up their devices before proceeding.

T3 offered a guide on how to get the public beta on an iPhone today, emphasizing that the release lets users try new features ahead of the expected September final release. AppleInsider echoed that sentiment, noting that while the public betas are now out, users should still be careful and treat the software as a work in progress.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, cited by MacRumors, had previously predicted the public beta would arrive this week, aligning with Apple's promised July timeframe. The beta is available through Apple's Beta Software Program website, where users can enroll their devices and download the update over the air.
