The feature is designed to help creators reach wider and more diverse audiences without the need for manual translation. Instagram said bilingual captions are currently available in English, Indonesian, Russian, Portuguese, Gujarati, Spanish, Hindi, Korean, Bengali, German, Italian, Thai, French, Japanese and Kannada.Alongside captions, creators can now build more detailed templates using overlay support, allowing multiple visual layers to be added within a single edit. This is expected to help creators produce more polished and visually engaging short form videos. The app has also added the ability to lock specific clips during editing, giving users greater precision when fine tuning transitions, effects and timing. In addition, Instagram has introduced a set of summer themed sound effects to Edits, giving creators more audio options as they produce seasonal content for reels and short videos.Edits was launched as a dedicated video creation app to complement Instagram’s core products, particularly Reels, as the platform looks to strengthen its position in short form video creation. The updates also tie in with Instagram’s broader creator monetisation and distribution tools, including 'Series', a feature that allows creators to publish episodic and premium content directly to their audiences.Separately, Instagram is introducing new Story creation features for creators using Ray Ban Meta, Oakley Meta and Meta Glasses. The update is aimed at making it easier to turn hands free moments into immersive Stories.Among the new features is Spin View, an interactive Story format that lets viewers explore a creator’s full point of view by rotating their phone. Instagram is also rolling out Multi Cam, which combines footage captured on a phone and AI glasses into a synchronised, multi angle Story experience. In addition, new native editing tools within Stories will allow creators to reframe point of view footage, adjust playback speed and enhance audio without leaving the app.Instagram said the new features will be rolled out gradually, as the platform continues to expand tools for creators across video, Stories and episodic formats.
