discuss.privacyguides.netHow to Choose a Password - Computerphileprivacyguides.netI recommended diceware in my above post because I wasn’t familiar with StrongPhrase (I saw the mentions of it above but didn’t have time to look into it yet), and I think we can all agree diceware is a safe and reliable option. Now that I’ve looked into StrongPhrase a bit more, it does seem secure, but I personally still will stick to diceware. It seems StrongPhrase passphrases can be upwards of 50% longer than diceware (EFF) passphrases of the same entropy. I’d rather spend more time memorizing once then have to spend 50% more time typing my passphrase in every time I use it, personally, and I recommend anyone looking at StrongPhrase consider this. However, if they just expanded their wordlists this problem could go away. This isn’t an inherent problem with their methodology.
