Fire Temporarily Closes Palm Springs Cultural Center

The Palm Springs Cultural Center is temporarily closed after a fire broke out Saturday evening.The fire was reported around 7:35 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find flames burning in the building's roof and attic space. Approximately 30 people were safely evacuated as a precaution.Palm Springs Fire Department crews brought the fire under control just before 8:30 p.m. A total of 31 firefighters responded to the incident.No injuries were reported.As a result of the fire, the Cultural Center canceled Friday's scheduled screening of Meet Me in St. Louis.
