Filmmaker Arindam Bhattacharya to launch Matrix One Bengali OTT platform in second half of 2026

Award-winning filmmaker Arindam Bhattacharya has announced the launch of Matrix One, a premium Bengali over-the-top (OTT) platform that is scheduled to debut in the second half of 2026.The platform will be backed by Bhattacharya's production house, Dreamliner Entertainment, which has produced films including Antarleen, Flat No. 609, Antardhaan, Shibpur and Durgapur Junction. Matrix One will focus on original web series, feature films, short films, documentaries and other content formats.According to the announcement, the platform will adopt a selective content strategy with an emphasis on quality. It is also being positioned as a family-focused Bengali streaming service featuring entertainment and informative programming across categories such as travel, food, lifestyle, and health and fitness.Matrix One's launch slate will include Shibpur – the prequel, Bhattacharya's first web series and a prequel to his 2023 film Shibpur. The platform will also stream Durgapur Junction, starring Vikram Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee, alongside the web series Dugga by Sayan Banerjee and a web film by Atanu Ghosh.The platform also plans to introduce a dedicated classics section by acquiring restored classic films. The initiative is intended to preserve cinematic heritage while building a digital archive of Bengali and Indian cinema.Before entering filmmaking in 2016, Bhattacharya spent two decades in senior leadership roles at RPG Spencer's, GE and HP Agilent. His films have received Filmfare and WBFJA awards."Matrix One is the culmination of my experience in both corporate governance and creative storytelling," said Bhattacharya.
