From the article

Disability Rights UK, supported by the Disability and Physical Activity Impact Collective, is inviting physical activity providers to complete a short baseline survey about inclusive physical activity provision for Disabled people. The survey questions have been co-designed with members of the Disability and Physical Activity Impact Collective. The survey aims to better understand what activities, services, facilities and support are currently available for Disabled people, as well as the practical, organisational and systemic challenges providers may face when delivering inclusive opportunities. It is also intended to capture why some providers may not currently offer specific activities or services for Disabled people. We are particularly keen to hear from people with good knowledge of their organisation’s facilities and physical activity offer. This may include facility managers, leisure centre or gym managers, operations managers, inclusion leads, community sport leads, programme managers, or senior staff within community groups, CICs, charities or other physical activity providers. The survey asks about: the type of provider or facility whether activities or services are currently offered for Disabled people practical challenges in delivering inclusive sessions accessibility of facilities partnership working with community organisations, charities, CICs, local authorities, health, social care or other partners whether Disabled people have been asked what services they would like what support would help providers improve physical activity opportunities for Disabled people The findings will help Disability Rights UK and DPAIC better understand whether providers’ experiences align with what Disabled people are telling us about access to physical activity. The information gathered will support learning, identify barriers and opportunities, and help inform future work to improve inclusive and equitable physical activity provision. Responses will be anonymised before findings are shared with partners and stakeholders. Contact details will not be shared with third parties and will only be used to send a follow-up survey in six months’ time.
