Summary
This study evaluates the impact of USAID funding on adult and child mortality across 133 low-income and middle-income countries over the past two decades. Using a retrospective impact evaluation and forecasting analysis, the research finds that USAID funding has significantly contributed to reducing mortality rates. The analysis further projects that if the abrupt funding cuts implemented in early 2025 are not reversed, a staggering number of avoidable deaths could occur by 2030.
