Erykah Badu and producer The Alchemist are hitting the road together again, announcing a North American tour set to kick off in September 2025. The tour, titled "Erykah Badu + The Alchemist Present: Live Tour," will feature The Alchemist for the entire run, with select dates welcoming special guests De La Soul and Smino. According to Pitchfork, the tour follows their 2024 joint Japan tour and the release of the single "Next to You," which was teased as the first taste of a collaborative album called Abi & Alan that has not yet been released.
The tour begins September 10th at the Ravinia Festival in Illinois, as reported by soulbounce.com. That outlet also noted that the new trek serves as a follow-up to the 2024 "Badu and Alchemist Present: Abi + Alan LUV IZ..." tour, which also paired the two artists onstage. The upcoming shows will bring a similar blend of Badu's soulful catalog and The Alchemist's production, with the added draw of rotating guest appearances.
De La Soul and Smino are confirmed for select dates, though neither outlet specified which cities those acts will join. The tour represents another chapter in the creative partnership between Badu and The Alchemist, who first collaborated on Badu's 2003 album "Mama's Gun" and have reunited periodically since. The Abi & Alan project, hinted at by the "Next to You" single, remains unreleased but suggests more material is in the works.
Tickets and full routing details have not yet been announced, but the limited information so far points to a major touring package. The combination of Badu's live presence, The Alchemist's beats, and the involvement of hip-hop legends De La Soul and rising star Smino makes this one of the most anticipated R&B and hip-hop tours of the fall.
