A new species of walking shark, the Dudgeon walking shark (Hemiscyllium dudgeoni), has been discovered in Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea. The meter-long shark crawls on its fins across reefs and tide pools, and was identified by its unique pattern of dashes and dots.
