Former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka has launched a new artificial intelligence-focused venture, Hang Ten Systems, securing $32 million in seed funding as he looks to reimagine the traditional IT services model through AI-driven software development and automation. The funding round, as per a TechCrunch report, was led by Mayfield, with participation from Aramco Ventures and a group of angel investors. The startup said it helps enterprises continuously build, modify and operate software using AI-powered development tools and automation capabilities.Hang Ten enters the market at a time when the global IT services industry is grappling with the implications of artificial intelligence. For decades, technology services firms generated revenue by helping enterprises customise, integrate and maintain software systems. The emergence of generative AI and agentic AI tools has sparked debate over whether many of these tasks can increasingly be automated. The Bay Area-based company said it is already working with customers including Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Fresenius on AI-native project delivery. It plans to expand hiring across engineering, sales, delivery and leadership functions as it scales globally.Sikka, who previously spent over a decade at SAP before leading Infosys, is positioning Hang Ten as an enterprise AI services company focused on agentic code generation, reusable AI capabilities and domain expertise. The startup's board also includes Jerry Yang. The company is distinct from Sikka's earlier AI venture, VianAI, which focused on analytics and enterprise decision-making tools. Hang Ten's emphasis is on software creation and operations, reflecting the growing shift towards AI-assisted engineering workflows. Also read: What is Jalapeño?
