Thank you for your help with needed triage during recent weeks. Here is an update about advising options. Always start with the written resources designed to answer most questions: Judicial clerkship roadmap on the OCS website In particular, the page on Taking Stock After Submitting Clerkship Applications has detailed advice covering most applicants at this point Categories and search function on left side of the Bench blog For a quick, individual question, please submit through the online form for a response by email, usually within a day or so. The weekly drop-ins on Tuesdays are paused until further notice. If you are not actively applying now or wanting to apply this summer , please continue to hold off in scheduling an appointment until traffic subsides further. For active applicants and those who want to apply this summer, regular appointments restart next Monday, June 29. If you are planning to submit a new wave of applications imminently, prioritize an appointment for review of your materials over an appointment for a live meeting. There may be ways to polish your materials further or even correct errors that you overlooked. When preparing your materials, read (by clicking into each link) the advice specifically for the clerkship context . Then, by the day before your appointment , email the adviser all the materials you have ready – ideally your cover letter, resume, transcripts (HLS, any other graduate school, and undergrad), and writing sample with cover sheet. If you have your materials ready earlier, send them earlier, noting the date of the appointment. The adviser will provide written comments via email as early as possible and by the end of the day of the appointment at the latest. You will not meet live at the appointment “time” for that type of appointment. When scheduling a live advising appointment , please make sure your clerkship registration page in CSM Symplicity is up to date for background. To help make the discussion concretely based on facts rather than assumptions, please also do the research described in Taking Stock and have a clear sense of which of your initial applications are still in play as possibilities.
