32nd Annual Palm Springs International ShortFest Returns

The 32nd annual Palm Springs International ShortFest officially kicked off today, welcoming filmmakers, industry professionals and film enthusiasts from around the world to Palm Springs.This year's festival features 329 short films representing more than 60 countries, making it one of the largest and most respected short film festivals in North America. The event has long served as a launching pad for emerging filmmakers, with many past participants going on to earn major industry recognition.Speaking at Festival Theaters in Palm Springs, ShortFest Co-Director of Programming Jesse Knight said the festival is designed to celebrate originality and help audiences discover the next generation of filmmakers.Knight explained that films are grouped into approximately 50 themed programs, giving attendees the opportunity to experience a wide range of genres, styles and storytelling approaches.
