Getting started

What is FeedBagel and how do I use it?

FeedBagel is a reader and directory for publishers worth following. Here's the short version of what it's for and how to get going.

What is FeedBagel?

FeedBagel is a place to read and discover writing from across the open web. It follows blogs, magazines, indie journals, university labs, and small publishers, and pulls their latest articles into one readable feed.

It's a reading tool, not a social network. There's no algorithmic ranking that learns from you and no engagement metrics chasing your attention. Just publishers in chronological order, organised by site, author, and topic.

Do I need an account?

Nope. Reading, browsing, and search are free with no sign-up.

What can I do here?

  • Read what's newly published in All articles.
  • Browse publishers in the Hosts directory or jump into a specific one (e.g. /site/the-verge).
  • Follow a topic via Tags to see what every publisher is saying about it.
  • Look up a writer in Authors.

Tips

  • Hit ⌘ K (or Ctrl K) anywhere to open the search palette.
  • Every page has a clean URL, so feel free to bookmark or share. The link will keep working.
  • The little sparklines you see across the site show how often a publisher has posted in the last 30 days.
