Six out-of-control wildfires threaten oil sands production in Alberta's Lac la Biche region

Six out-of-control wildfires have erupted in Alberta's Lac la Biche oil sands region, threatening approximately half a million barrels per day of crude production. The largest blaze spans 1,000 hectares, and fires are within 20 kilometers of major in-situ oil sands well sites.
