AI stocks stage a partial recovery on Wall Street while global markets remain unsettled
AI stocks led a rebound on Wall Street on Monday, recovering some of their steep losses from last week, but the broader market and stocks worldwide remained shaky, according to Newsday. The three major indices opened mixed, The Business Times reported, as investors weighed shifting pressures on global markets. "AI stocks recovered some of their steep losses from last week, but the rest of the market and stocks worldwide were shaky." Meanwhile, European markets dropped following protests, and Asian stock markets mostly declined on Monday amid continued jitters over AI funding needs, City AM reported. London's FTSE 100 was shaping up for a modest dip on open, according to the same outlet. Bond yields cranked higher worldwide, even as oil prices fell, Sentinel and Enterprise and Delco Times both reported. City AM noted that the fall in oil prices offered some reprieve to markets, though the overall mood remained cautious. "Yields cranked higher for bonds worldwide despite drops for oil prices." The contrasting moves across asset classes underscore the uneven nature of the current market environment, with AI stocks bouncing back even as broader uncertainty persists across global exchanges.
