New music Friday is stacked with Miley Cyrus's album release and a video for her fiancé, while Spotify launches a major indie artist initiative. The day's stories balance big label pop moves with platform-level support for the unsigned.
The biggest pop story today is Miley Cyrus's album drop, but the day also has room for a GTA soundtrack and a double single from Tinashe.
Miley Cyrus dropped the video for 'Let's Get Married' a day before her album *Bass Persuades* lands. It's a black-and-white Chateau Marmont scene with her fiancé Maxx Morando, which is about as on-brand as it gets.
Billboard ranked all 10 tracks from Miley's new album. The piece is a useful companion for anyone diving into *Bass Persuades* today.
Grand Theft Auto VI is getting a 34-track original soundtrack album, out November 19 alongside the game. Six singles are already streaming, and physical editions are on the way.
Tinashe introduced her upcoming album *Popstar* with a double single that contrasts 'Pillow Fight' and 'I'd Rather Be Alone.' The piece digs into how these songs show different sides of relationships.
Spotify's new initiative signals a real shift in how streaming services invest in the bottom of the funnel.
Spotify's Fresh Finds Forward aims to support 10,000 emerging indie artists each year with marketing and education. It builds on the Fresh Finds program that has already helped over 80,000 artists since 2021.
