Astrid founder and music industry insider Charlie Clark has emerged from a year of solitude to announce that his band Yama Rama is embarking on a national tour to promote a new single called “Sweat Equity”. For the first time, Charlie will also be opening up about his 30-year career to share behind-the-scenes insights into life as a working musician at the top of his game, sharing stories about stars like Russell Brand and fond memories of the much-missed Frightened Rabbit singer Scott Hutchinson. Yama Rama’s latest song is about smiling through the pain, taking comfort in the people around you and looking forward to a brighter tomorrow. It’s also a look back (and a move forward) from the highs and lows of three decades of late nights at the heart of music scenes in Japan, Spain, Scotland and Hollywood.
