Xiaomi has begun distributing the first beta version of Android 17 to its flagship Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra devices. According to TugaTech, the update is currently being rolled out to participants in the beta testing program in China, with the primary aim of optimizing the core system structure and improving overall stability.
Identified by build numbers OS3.0.330.13.XPCCNXM and OS3.0.330.9.XPACNXM, the beta marks the initial migration to the new Android version. XimiTime reported that the update is part of an early testing phase and is not intended to introduce major new features.
"focuses on Android version migration, bug fixes, and performance improvements rather than introducing dramatic new features."
This pragmatic approach suggests that Xiaomi is prioritizing a solid foundation before adding user-facing enhancements, a strategy common in early beta cycles. TugaTech noted that the update is built around stability fixes and optimizations, mirroring the cautious rollout typical of Chinese beta programs.
Both outlets confirmed that the beta is currently exclusive to Chinese testers, with no timeline yet for a wider release. The focus on core improvements could help Xiaomi avoid the stability issues that sometimes plague early Android versions on new hardware.
