Microsoft lays off 158 ZeniMax employees in Texas, including 136 at id Software
Microsoft's ongoing restructuring at ZeniMax Media (Bethesda) has resulted in 158 layoffs in Texas, with id Software — the studio behind the DOOM franchise — being the primary affected studio. Of those, 96 employees were laid off at id Software's Richardson office, and 40 remote workers reporting to that office were also let go. This follows earlier reports that 50% of id Software's staff had been cut, as part of what is being described as a "big reset" for Xbox.
