Will Ferrell's new Netflix golf comedy series 'The Hawk' is set to premiere on July 16, bringing together a cast of familiar faces from his comedic past. According to The Streamable, the entire 10-episode season will drop at 3:01 a.m. ET exclusively on Netflix. The series follows Lonnie 'The Hawk' Hawkins, a former elite golfer attempting to reclaim his glory on the PGA Tour, as reported by DraftKings.

The cast includes Ferrell alongside Molly Shannon, Chris Parnell, Jimmy Tatro, and Fortune Feimster, according to Decider. Ferrell created the show and serves as a writer and executive producer, DraftKings noted, while also starring as the lead. The project marks a full-circle reunion for Ferrell and Shannon, who previously worked together on 'Saturday Night Live'. Whatfinger reported exclusively that the pair reflected on their 'SNL' reunion in connection with the series.

During promotional interviews, Ferrell and Shannon discussed an unexpected offshoot of the show: Ferrell's character appeared in a SKIMS underwear campaign. Extra TV reported that Shannon called it "genius marketing," while Ferrell joked the campaign was causing "riots on the streets." He quipped that the whole goal of doing the show was to land a SKIMS deal, and noted his character was "thrilled" to be part of it.

For Ferrell, the collaborative spirit on set was key. The News International quoted him saying, "Some of the more fun parts..." and noted that he recalled many shared laughs that went beyond the humor of the series. He credited the cast's familiar chemistry for elevating the show.

With the British Open coinciding and the 2026 World Cup wrapping up, The Streamable called the series "exactly the kind of sports-comedy nonsense we all need in our lives." The show promises a blend of golf legend antics and Ferrell's signature physical comedy, as evidenced by his surprise impression of Molly Shannon on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', which Extra TV noted had her cracking up.
