Emergent, a Bengaluru and San Francisco based vibe coding platform, has raised $130 million in Series C funding at a $1.5 billion valuation, officially joining the unicorn club. The round was led by Creaegis, with participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, Y Combinator, and others, according to TechCrunch. The startup has now raised $230 million in total funding.
"It's raining unicorns this year."
The company reported $120 million in annualized revenue run rate and over 200,000 paying customers, according to TechCrunch. Exclusive figures shared with Tech in Asia show that Emergent's users and revenue spiked 4x in just six months, driven by repeat users and lower AI costs.
"India has produced yet another AI unicorn."
Emergent's platform allows small businesses to build applications without coding skills, a segment that has seen surging demand, reported cfotech.ca. The startup's valuation marks a 5x jump in just six months from its previous round, TechCrunch noted, reflecting the intense investor appetite for AI powered development tools.
The news comes less than a month after proptech startup Square Yards became the country's 131st unicorn, as inc42.com contextualized. With this funding, Emergent becomes one of the fastest Indian startups to reach the billion dollar valuation milestone.
